After reading blogs for a long time, I have finally decided to start my own.  I figure it will be a place to keep track of all of my knitting projects and display some of my photography as well.  My name is Diana and I live in Delaware.  I have been knitting since November 2002 when I used to commute to NYC to work.  Ever since then I have become obsessed with knitting.  It is something to keep me busy when I watch TV.  I like to be productive…and knitting allows me to do that.  Recently I have become addicted to socks…..I used to knit sweaters, but found it hard to finish them to my liking.  So that is my intro.  I look forward to posting much more in the coming weeks and getting my look and feel of this page up to snuff.  Thanks for reading!

We had a nice long weekend.  Hubby was off on Friday and so was my mom, so my parents drove down from NY to stay over.  We went to Winterthur.  The weather was gorgeous!  Took some photos.  I will post one (my first time trying to post a photo.) 

I am trying to learn more about how to get this page to look prettier.  I think I now know how to change my header….so I will take a photo for that tomorrow and try to get it up.

Ok, well two days after my first post I finally got the photo that went with it to post.  It was a little trickier than I thought, but I didn’t give up!  Today I made my own header…but I still can’t figure out how to remove that white gap under the photo…..I also messed around in the code for the page to try to change that green color…..but it is the one piece that is still evading me.  I will keep at it though!  I also added my Yahoo Avatar (thanks to the husband) and a weather pixie!  It is getting there…

For my first Eye Candy Friday….I am posting a butterfly on a dahlia I shot at Bayard Cutting Arboretum on Long Island back in late September.

I need to take some pics of my knitting to give you proof that I knit!  Right now I am working on a pair of socks for BFresh (my husband…..his students refer to me as DFresh!)…and I have a few ideas in the wings that I need to play with this weekend!  I will keep you posted.

You learn something new everyday!  I am a firm believer in that.  I love to learn and to teach myself.  Today I figured out how to record actions in Photoshop….that is going to make posting photos sooo much easier.  I recorded an action allowing me to open my giant camera photos, and with a single click I can resize them to 640 pixels and save them to my desktop.  Which is the perfect place to upload them to my new Flickr account.  (I have added the badge to my sidebar and imported some photos I took yesterday of the socks I have made!)  I am excited!  More fixing and primping to come.

I am almost done with sock #1 for BFresh!  Last night we went to his HS Football championship game against Middletown.  It was cold out!  But the peoplewatching was fun!  Ok back to my million projects!  More soon!

Ok, so I ordered some yarn from Knit Picks and I spent all this time reading what people have done online, so I finally decided to stop worrying that I would do it wrong, and just did it!  It was fun….I felt like a mad scientist!  But let me tell you, that orange flavor smelled NASTY!!!  I had to banish my finished yarn to the laundry room to air out because I couldn’t stand it.

BFresh and I just went to see the movie Stranger Than Fiction.  It was good…..deep…interesting.  Made you think a little.  It is a nasty day out today…..rainy and cold.  Has me thinking about future scarves to knit!  I think I need to start a few more items on my sidebar tracking my projects.  I can’t believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  This year is flying by and before you know it it will be 2007.  O well.  This was a totally random post

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!

Usually, I tend to avoid things when I don’t like the way they are turning out….so the same went for my blog.  For some reason my old theme was pushing my sidebar down to the bottom and I really didn’t like the way it looked…..so I was avoiding my blog.  But today I was trying to tackle some of my loose ends, so I sat down and found a new theme, which I think is working out better layout-wise too.  (I am odd and like my list of favorite links on the side of my web browser….and this new theme makes my page look the same whether that is open or not.) 
So now I need to come up with a few more side pages that I want to create to keep track of my knitting projects and needle collection and such.  But I feel alot better already!  Yippee!

I would also like to post my Eye Candy Friday.  This was taken at the beach on Thanksgiving Weekend.  It was nice and warm out.  (that is about to change today)

Don’t you love it when you have a problem…and when you try to solve it, the people that are supposed to help you send you in a circle.  This is the story of my life.  Anyway.  So I am still new to this Blog thing.  And last night BFresh told me he went to my blog and couldnt view my latest photos.  (Which shouldnt be bc they are linked from my Flickr page and I did it correctly.  So this morning, when I went to post or try to see if there was a problem, I got an error message from WordPress…..which blamed my web host.  So I contacted my web host online and asked about the error and they told me to reinstall WordPress…..which when I went to do….the web host’s page had an error warning!  So it WAS their fault!  O well.  We are back and running now!  I have been sewing away on my quilt.  I will take a photo later to post tomorrow when I have a little bit more together.  I am really liking it!
